That the meeting be closed to the public in order to deal with agenda items under the
Community Charter:

Section 90(1) A part of the Council meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to or is one or more of the following:

(n) the consideration of whether a Council meeting should be closed under a provision of this subsection or subsection (2); and,

Section 90(2):

(b) the consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the municipality and a provincial government or the federal government or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party.

Purpose:  Consistent with the COVID – 19 Financial Response, Relief and Recovery Framework, provide Council with an update on the projected impact to parking operations and the parking reserve as a result of the Province of BC declaring a Provincial Health Emergency on March 17th.  Further, provide information about potential temporary parking fee relief.

Purpose:  Consistent with the COVID-19 Financial Response, Relief and Recovery Framework, provide Council with information on the City of Nanaimo’s 2020 property tax penalty scheme and options to align all classes with same treatment.

Purpose: To provide Council the opportunity to have a round table discussion in order to review and prioritize topics for Special Council Meetings, or future Governance and Priorities Committee Meetings.
